Bragging on my brother.
I had the honor of creating this card recently for a shop especially dear to my heart. I'm so endlessly proud of and enamored with my brother Collin's wooden creations. His online shop The Pale Blue Atlas Club has all manner of phenomenal, handcrafted pieces made from reclaimed exotic and foraged woods. He has especially found a voice in these wooden spinning tops (also available-jewelry, chess sets and spreaders). I cant think of anyone they wouldn't make the perfect gift for!

A quick mention.
I would be remiss if I did not mention the Downton Abbey themed silk scarf I created for Fancy French Cologne again in time for the season of gift giving. I'm in Europe with my family and super excited to get to catch up on the 3rd season myself!

December already?
I will update with a calendar version of this soon! Also probably an alternate wreath (there are soo many lovely options for a December themed wreath!) but for now I didn't want to fall behind on posting these... Thank you to everyone who has been asking about where to find the full calendar- unfortunately it doesn't exist in its entirety yet as I just started creating these month to month. But since I am enjoying it and there has been such a great response, I am really hoping to get a full one together to possibly be available early January. I know that will be a little late for everyone more on-top of keeping track of time than myself, but stay posted!
Heads Up!
Just a heads up... for the very exciting reason that we are flying home to be with my family in Europe for the Holidays... today and tomorrow are the LAST DAYS before Christmas to order from my Etsy shop! (And you can still enter the code CHRISTMAS there for 15% off). Best wishes to everyone!

Anthology
Great news for anyone in the Madison, Wisconsin area! The lovely paper goods and gift shop Anthology is now carrying a line of my prints. Their seasonal window theme is woodland mushroom, which is one of my favorite things ever. I'm very excited and honored to have my work included!
(My prints "Mushroom Afternoon" and "Bellflowers" can be seen hanging in the middle.)

Christmas Cards!
I am so excited for my Christmas cards that are now in stock and ready to be sent out! I am beyond happy with the printing- I went with a beautiful thick cotton stock, and found some lovely colored envelopes. Available on my Etsy in each of my original illustrations or as a set of all four.

Specific Thank-yous.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! There are a million things I am so grateful for in my life this year. These are a few small but specifically appreciated things I created thank-you cards for recently. The fact that I still have them in my possession and haven't given them to the deserving parties (these events were months and months ago) means I'm maybe missing the point. But its never to late to express gratitudes right?

A Christmas Invitation
I had the honor of creating a formal invitation for a recent book signing we had at The Paris Market. Holley Jaakkola a great friend of the stores was there for her new book "A Savannah Christmas". Enjoy the beginnings of the season!

The Busy Season.
I guess its because its the pre-holiday season, but things have been out-of-control busy lately. My justification in letting it get almost out of hand is that I will be taking month of to spend with my family for Christmas! I'd rather work now and play later. And also, I enjoy my work so its a mostly win-win. Ive been doing a lot of styling and displaying lately. Heres a sketch of one of our Thanksgiving window from last year! Pictures of the new ones coming soon..

November
How has the last month slipped by already? I don't mind so much since November seems to be bringing cozier temperatures to Savannah, and since it means were one month closer to being home for Christmas. Here is this months calendar! Inspired by the Quince that grew in our yard growing up, and some beautiful tiny pears and persimmons and I found at our local store.

Busy.
I'm alive! Just busy on things: Here are tiny bits of the things my hand lettering has had a hand in lately. Pun intended.
(Love the 1920's)
(Smallest piece of hand lettering ever I know! But more fun projects for PD should be posted soon.)

Last weekend was the incredible wedding of some dear friends. So southern, so beautiful, so them! It was such a great honor to get to contribute a small part to the big day- this map- the lovely photo of which is taken by the talented JadeandMathewtake pictures. (you can see more wonderful photos of the wedding on their blog!). I tried to save a printed copy of my map to post a photo of, but its a little worse for the wear after spending the night in my pocket on the dance floor. :)

Fashion's Night Out: Building Savannah
This is a little overdue. I had the honor of participating in "Building Savannah" a Fashion's Night Out event hosted by Judge Realty and artists Katherine Sandoz. The project was for different artist around the city to use old wine crates to make them into their own interpretation of a building. Then on the night of FNO we brought them all together to build a little town. It was a lot of fun working on something 3 dimensional. A different sort of challenge is always a nice break from all the drawing. Enjoy! xo

Farewell.
I'm really enjoying more hand lettering lately (if you couldn't tell...)
This was created for this weeks Meatloaf Monday which marks a goodbye to our brilliant friend and illustrator Leslie A. Wood. You can still keep track of her work here!

October.
So I realize its still a week away, but here is the first installments of monthly calendar layouts I'll be doing. (featuring some of the best parts of fall: hawthorne, rosehips, chinese lanterns, and woodsy mushrooms.) xo.

Something in the Air.
The air is starting to shift into fall! There are few more wonderful sensations in life. Our bit of yard in the back is full of overgrown vines and brambles right now, in the best way possible. Staring out into it is my favorite way to be distracted from work at my desk lately (and a great excuse to bring my paints outside for a while).

Something Simple
I'll be out on the islands this week helping with a photoshoot. This was a sketch of the marshlands from the last time I was working out there. Its such a different scene from the forests and hills where I grew up but I have a special place in my heart for the specific beauty of the low country.
